Stretching ever so slightly, a sandy haired male closed a book that he had been reading softly, setting it back on its shelf. Figuring that it was late enough in the morning to find any one of his friends awake, he clambered to his feet, slightly unsteady at first. His amber eyes were alert; morning was his time of day. Remus Lupin was not poor; he did, however, look somewhat shabby next to his rich friends. Standing just beow either Sirius or James, Remus Lupin was considerabley smaller. Shabby robes clung to his lithe form, so oftenly contorted with pain and suffering. Even next to his charming and popular friends (Remus happened to be one as well), Remus managed to have a small fan club; it may not have been as large as one of the others, but it was something considering.
He grinned, revealing a white smile with unusually sharp teeth. He had almost come to like this altered appearance; they had not always been like that. They were a plus, he supposed, trying to look on the bright side, of a dark past riddled with pain. You see, Remus Lupin was no ordinary wizard. he was, in fact, a werewolf. Which explains the oh-so-fitting nickname of Moony, coined by his fellow Marauders. Remus Lupin, Prefect and candidate for Head Boy, a Marauder. Yes, Remus enjoyed causing trouble as much as his two friends (although he did not openly admit this -- he claims it's just to keep them out of trouble) even if his methods were slightly more careful. All three Marauders, the exception being Peter of course, were brilliant. They chose to execute their brillance differently, for teachers oftened questioned Lupin's choice of such unwilling friends.
