Ooc: Takes place early HS vamps Tobias and Anabelle. Before, if you recall, or on the same night as the infamous “in-house camping trip. It’s kind of self explanatory. just a piece of romantic fluff…
He couldn’t sleep. Just like he had not been able to sleep for the three previous nights. Ever since the first day of school, the image of her had been stuck in his mind, the way her name flowed so perfectly from his lips when he said it, it was all stuck there in a jumble of memories that he would never be able to get out of his mind. It was her that kept him awake at night, for whenever he closed his eyes he saw her, laughing at him like she did in the first day of chemistry class, probably laughing at some dumb “chemical perfume” joke of his. Would he ever be able to get to sleep?
The next morning was Friday, thank the lord, and Tobias desperately needed the weekend. He rolled out of bed slowly, trudging his way to his bathroom. His reflection in the mirror should have cracked it in half. His hair was disheveled, and dark circles had formed underneath his eyes from four sleepless nights. He tried to comb his hair, but it was being incredibly stubborn. Or he just was not trying too much to get anything done with it. He walked back to his room, pulling on whatever clothes were sitting on his floor, finishing dressing in time to catch his phone buzzing with vibrations on his bedside table.
Meet at the tree? –A
Even though it had only been a week or so of school being in session, he and Anabelle had become good friends, definitely changing from their roles as “lost new kid that just happened to stumble upon his tree” and “random guitar playing occupant of the tree”. School never seemed to have been any better now that he was friends with her. And they had made friends together too, he remembered their random first day ditching to Panda Express with Sienna and Adrien.
By the time he got to school, the familiar figure of Anabelle was already sitting underneath their tree. Their tree? Why did he call it that just now? It wasn’t like they were a couple and had named it their own personal tree/meeting spot? Who said that they wanted to be a couple? Surely Tobias didn’t? Why would he even think of such a thing?
But who was Tobias trying to persuade? Other people or himself? Truth was, he did want to be a couple with Anabelle. But if it would happen sooner or later, that would be his choice, or it would be Anabelle’s choice. Even in the short walk to the tree from where he was, the thought of being with her ate at his mind, just like it had been doing for endless amounts of nights. He had to tell her. Soon. Or who knows when or where he would get the chance, or enough courage to tell her.
“Hey!” he called out to her, a smile on his face as he waved to her.
Tell her.
“Hey yourself,’ Anabelle replied, turning to face him.
As she turned to look at him, his heart skipped a beat, like it always seem to when he looked at her.
Tell her.
“Is everything alright?” He heard her ask him. He was being incredibly quiet. “You’re being incredibly quiet.”
“Anabelle, I-“ He started, but then paused.
“What is it?” She asked.
“I have to tell you something,” he took a deep breath, and then continued, making sure to look right into her eyes. “For the past week, I haven’t been able to sleep. I don’t know why, but I have an idea. I’m dying to-“
“You’re dying!?” She interrupted, a scared look upon her face.
“What? No, I’m not dying. When I get some form of sleep, I dream. And in my dream, I see you. I see you through the smoky air. I know you don’t see it, but I hope you feel the weight of my stare. In my dream, you're so close but still a world away. What I'm dying to say, is- is that I'm crazy for you. I’ve never wanted anyone like this, it's all brand new to me. In my dream, we kiss. I know then and there you feel it in my kiss. That I am head over heels, that something happens that sends me head over heels.”
Tobias finished, and fell silent, waiting for any sort of response.
“Kiss me,” a female voice replied. “I want to feel it too. I’m crazy for you.”
