Feeling rather confident in herself, her mud brown eyes turned to Harry. "So, Harry, what's your first class?" she asked, folding her hands over the surface of the table. Her foot tapped anxiously at the floor and her nerves were growing, but she was doing heckuhh well at hiding it.

ooc: you just had to make me think up a schedule in my head didn't you? lol...
Harry was startled out of his thoughts as he heard Ginny direct a question at him. "Oh, umm, my c-classes? I have, ah, I have Transfiguration first," Harry stuttered, suddenly remembering what it felt like to have Ginny look directly at him. "What about you?" Harry asked the red-head. " Way to go Harry. You haven't spoken to her in months, and that's the best you can do,"Harry thought to himself with disgust.

{ooc.} =D
{bic.} Ginny grinned a bit, though it soon faded as she heard the questions. "I get to wake up to Potions every mourning," she said, eyes rolling with annoyance. "Yay for Snape." she said sarcastically.

ooc: haha.. oh man...
"Oh, that's unfortunate," Harry said to Ginny uncertainly. He didn't seem to understand how to act around her anymore. The Great Hall suddenly seemed suffocating, and Harry looked around for a way to get out. As he surveyed the room, Ginny caught his attention again, and held it for what seemed like an eternity. Harry smiled to himself, allowing a small calm to wash over him. As quickly as the feeling had come upon him, it was gone. Harry once again looked for a way out of The Great Hall.

Harry's feeling of discomfort seemed to rushing off him and onto her like body heat; as she soon felt herself freeze up. She took a sip of her goblet to keep her from needing to say anything, quickly setting it down. She cleared her throat. "Yeah.." she trailed off.
Ginny nudged Hermione's side. Hard. She gave her look of need, basically telling her to say something before Ginny said something stupid. Unsude if Hermione would get the full memo, she just elbowed her once more and turned her head to Harry.

The brunette easily took note of the tension that now flowed between the pair; but she spoke not until Ginny's elbow found a way into her side. Supressing a small crey of pain(Ginny had nudged her rather hard), she quickly jumped into the conversation. "Potions first? That sounds horrid, Gin," she offered, grabbing a biscuit from her plate and spreading butter onto it. "I think I've got class with you, Harry," she added nonchalantly, her attention turning back to the black haired boy, as if there was no tension whatsoever.

"Most likely. We usually have the same classes," Harry muttered more to himself than to Hermione. The morning was definitely not going the way he wanted. Why couldn't things have been easier? Suddenly his scar twinged a bit, and reminded him. Harry remembered his duties, and he turned towards Hermione. "We should get to class, don't you think?" Harry quickly looked at Ginny, as if he wanted to say something to her, but immediately changed his mind.

Ginny returned his gaze hopefully, though slouched a bit as his gaze turned away from her. Why couldn't things just be, one,a s they were or, two, just plain easier? Oh, right, it's Ginny. These thoughts rolled through her mind, brining a frown to her glossy lips. Rolling a finger around the rim of her goblet, Ginny dropped her chin into her palm, propping her elbow up on the edge of the table.

Harry noticed Ginny's disappointment, and it nearly broke his heart. Well, whatever was left of his heart that could still feel. Harry sighed with disgust at his selfishness, but reminded himself that the only way to be with Ginny again, was to fight all of this alone. Then maybe... Harry began to walk out of the Great Hall, pretending not to notice the silence that fell heavily, and the stares that followed him. At least in Transfiguration, people would be too busy to talk about his misadventures. Professor McGonagall would make sure of that.

No. Go talk to him. Go tell him you're going with him. Go tell him that you can't stand to see him go alone. Go tell him that you can't imagine how you would feel if you were just left with hoping to Merlin that he was still alive. Just GO.
Her feet didn't move. Actually, nothing on her body moved. She stayed silent, her gaze following him out of the hall.

Hermione couldn't stand the exchange between the pair,t hough she kept dutifully silent throughout the whole awkward conversation--rather, non conversation. As Harry left the Great Hall the brunette shot a sympathetic glance towards her friend and jumped up. That boy was dense. "He left, and we've got the same class!' she mumbled, though clearly it was not the reason why she wished to follow him. "I'll see you later Ginny," she added, giving her friend what she hoped was an encouraging smile. Boys! "Harry!" the seventh year called as she closed the gap between the two. "Harry, what was that?"

Harry stopped abruptly and turned to answer Hermione. "What was what?"Harry answered. He knew perfectly well what Hermione was talking about, but he pretended otherwise, in hopes she might drop the subject. Though, he didn't think he would be that lucky.

"You guys can't even be friends?" Hermione plunged right on, despite Harry's rather obvious unwillingness to discuss the subject. She easily caught up to him and gestured for him to keep walking, adjusting her book bag and clutching her book to her chest.

"Hermione, it's not as easy as you think. What am I to do when Draco reports back to Voldemort that Ginny is my greatest weakness? And you know as well as I do, that I would die before I allowed harm to come to her, or any of my friends for that matter." Harry said all of this to Hermione with a look in his eyes that attempted to show her his feelings of sadness and defeat. "Please say you understand. And tell her, "Harry stopped for a moment, "tell her that I do miss her, and that I wish things could go back to the way they once were." After Harry said what he felt, the burden on him seemed to lessen, if only a little.
