Freckles.
He had been used to them, and even though at times it seemed like each summer they tended to multiply, a young Ronald Weasly always seemed to overcome them. His appearance was that of what it usually was: hair slightly on end, shirt too short, pants you could see his ankles in, you know that sort of thing. But that too, he was used to dealing with.
The tall redhead, though happy to be back at school, dreaded the classes. But at least there was something each morning, lunch, and dinner to keep him occupied:
Lunch.
His favorite subject so to say. And he loved it so, even shrugging off the comments by Malfoy and the long silences that always occured now between Harry and Ginny. Oh, the kind of patience he had to have when his best mate and sister werent talking. Wait, patience, what patience?
"Just talk to her already!" he practically shouted at Harry as he, Harry, and Hermione walked to class, resisting the urge to smack him in the back of the head. "Bloody hell"
oh Ronald. Such tact.

Hermione's eyes narrowed as her friend spoke. Of course, it made sense, if one thought about it rationally. But she had rarely seen another so dejected. Her mouth was set in a small, thoughtful frown. "Perhaps you're right, Harry," she said, very slowly, because she wanted Harry and Ginny to be happy but reason spoke louder to her, "but you at least owe her an explanation," she supplied, "and not through me, or Ron," and here her gaze shifted the the redhead, listening raptly. Even as the words tumbled from her mouth the illogical protested, her heart rather strained against her attempt at repression. That was what was best, wasn't it? "She at least needs to know that....if you believe it must be such a drastic measure." And finally Ron's outburst brought her from her thoughts, and the frown slipped away though she managed to remain rather dutiful in appearance. "Oh Ron," she sighed. "You are so tactless!"

"Its not my fault Harry is being a downright idiot!" Ron countered back. "What would you do Hermione, if suddenly Harry or I stopped talking to you? Would would make the attempt to talk to us first, or just ignore us. Like that time in, what was it, first year. And then we went and saved you from that troll. Yeah, you hated us then." he said.

"Harry and Ginyn are a completely different matter entirely!" Hermione replied, voice terse. "And I never hated you--you were the ones that called me a know-it-all," she replied, expression set and rather victorious. Not the point. Her attention returned to the dark haired boy beside her. "Ron's right though," she sighed, as though admitting this were rare(which it were) "You need to talk to her."

"Thats because you are a know-it-all," Ron replied. "Dont hex me," he then added

"I'm not going to hex you, Ron!" she bickered in reply, looking forlorn. She did not, however, rebuke his comment about her know-it-all status. "I'm not a five-year-old," she huffed, crossing her arms.

I am Ron thought to himself. Well, sometimes he had the mental capacity of a five year old. "And I am right Harry," he said, bringing the topic back up. And Hermione had agreed with him. That was a first in a long time.

"Look, would you two stop sniping at each other for even a moment?" Harry coldly asked his two best friends. "I will not have anything happen to Ginny. She's too important. I know I have to talk to her, but I have to think it through first."
Harry's shoulders were slumped. The constant pressure of being "The Golden Boy" constantly weighed down on him. Now, more than ever, he wished that the prophecy had never been. Sometimes Harry even went so far as to wish he wasn't a wizard. Then the haunting image of chocolate-brown eyes, and fiery red hair would remind him of his place.
Harry continued, "I promise I will talk to her soon. It's just that, every time I look at her, I remember how much-". Harry stopped mid-sentence, afraid to continue one of the most important declarations of his life.

"We're not sniping." Ron protested. "This is how friends talk. See? talkkkkkkk.Well, dont talk to Ginny like this. She might end up hating you. And she's my sister, so she'll come and complain to me or Hermione and I wont hear the end of it and blah blah blah." He said. "Just talk to her. Sooner than later."

"Yeah, I will. But I want to say the right things, at the right time. There's just so much going on right now-too much- but I care for her a lot", Harry replied. His eyes darkened in color, as his mood became sorrowful. Everything he wanted, never came through... His parents, Sirius, Dumbledore, and now Ginny.... Everyone he loved was slipping away. But he would be damned if Ginny were taken from him.

"The right time?" Ronald asked. "Harry, about now there isnt any perfect right time. Just do it now. Today if you have to. If not, you'll just end up regretting not talking to her sooner. And then you will be all moody like you have been lately. And, well, sorry mate, but it gets a bit annoying," Ron said. "And I mean that as a friend, you know that. Hermione and I are just looking out for your well-being. So, go and talk to her."

"Yeah, I know I've been a pain in the arse lately. Sorry about that... I'll talk to her today, but I need to think of what I want to say, and how to say it", Harry replied to Ron. He fidgeted, unsure if he should reveal his feeling for his best friend's sister. A thought struck Harry. Why not? Wouldn't do any harm. "Ron, it's just that - and don't kill me for this, but - I love her. I love her so much." Harry said this all very quickly, and looked down, unsure of Ron's reaction.

Once she had sat there for quite awhile, thoughts racing through her head of red hair like a tornado, she huffed a sigh; they weren't coming back anytime soon. Of course, it seemed to be that way a lot lately; she'd be the youngest, she'd be ditched quite often for them to talk about 'their mission'. Flicking back a few strands of falling, fiery red bangs, Ginny rose to her feet. Brushing her robes free of crumbs - even if she hadn't eaten anything to create crumbs - and surveying the room to make sure it was Malfoy-free, she nodded and headed down the isle.
As she headed past chatting students, she couldn't help but wonder what the golden trio were talking about right at this very moments; whether it was how they'd get revenge on Malfoy, how they'd destroy the Horcruxes, what the Horcruxes were, or if they were just having a normal conversation for once, like about the weather - which was rather beautiful that afternoon. Shaking her thoughts and sighing gently, the sixth year moved swiftly up the stairs and to wards the Common Room once more. Maybe by the time she woke up from the nap she was planning on having, things would be ready to be made right again - as much as she doubted that, it would help her get to sleep.

He should have seen that one coming. Ron had known for an incredibly long time that Harry had felt that way about his sister. What could he do? He couldnt tell his best mate that he cant love his own flesh and blood. How would that look? "Sorry Harry, but you cant love her" No, that could never work.
"I knew it all along mate," Ron said in Harry's direction. "But why are you telling me? DO I look like my sister? I'm not the one you are supposed to be telling. So get on with it!"

Harry looked up quickly in shock. He had been half expecting Ron to punch him. His mouth was open in a wide O.
"Uh, thanks then Ron. I'll go talk to her tonight," Harry said, growing more confident with each word. Harry's stomach felt as though butterflies were flying madly around.
"Ron, I'm glad you took that well. I don't think I would have been able to tell her now if you had reacted differently..." Harry laughed nervously and turned toward where Hermione had previously been standing, as if expecting a reaction.

Ginny had made herself comfortable on one of the armchairs nearest the mantel, her legs folded neatly below her body and her head comfortably rested on a silk pillow. Looked royal, at first glance; though, the black robes would beg to differ. She'd been shifting, shuffling and simply sitting there for just over fifteen minutes now and the silence and stillness was about to drive her mental. She needed something, something interesting to happen. I mean, not that fights with Malfoy and causing scenes in the Great Hall isn't interesting; but that doesn't last very long.
Sighing gently, Ginny sat up and simply stared into the deep depths of the fire, flames crackling and embers spitting out from the fire into the outskirts of the cement pit. Her gaze was simply lost and transfixed for a few seconds, but she quickly snapped them away, groaning lowly.
"Bloody hell; why am I so boring?"

"If you think you're so boring go out and do something," the brunette grinned as she stepped silently through the opened portrait. She had thought that the younger redhead would have heard the Fat Lady grumbling as she swung open to reveal the lush Gryffindor commonm rooms; they were completely silent except for Ginny's outloud musings. Hermiona smirked. Ginny seemed to need her more than the infuriating boys right now anywho--she had slipped away just as talk turned to girls, Ginny in particular, and Hermione, disgusted, had slipped away. Sweeping a stray curl behind her ear the brown-eyed girl surveyed her friend. "Those boys are morons," she offered absently, swinging herself into an empty seat beside Ginny. She hadn't quite decided if she would share what the boys had been discussing--at least not without Ginyn begging--yet she could still skim the topic.
